Shortly after the broadcast of the final episode of Solo Leveling, a second season has been confirmed for production, with the subheading “Arise from the Shadow.” A premiere date for the second season was not revealed.

The first 12-episode season aired on January 7, 2024 and ended on March 31, 2024.

Crunchyroll also released a short 30-second teaser trailer announcing the second season's production.

Shunsuke Nakashige (Mother of the Goddess' Dormitory) is directing the anime series, with Noboru Kimura (Healer Girl, Amaim Warrior at the Borderline) as series screenwriter, Tomoko Sudo ( Fragtime) as character designer, Chiaki Kozumi (Engage Kiss) as sub-character designer, Yoshihiro Kanno (Sword Art Online Progressive co-action animation director) as action director, Hirotaka Tokuda (Warlords of Sigrdrifa director) as monster designer, and Hiroyuki SAWANO (Attack on Titan Final Season co-composer) as music composer. A-1 Pictures is in charge of the animation production for the series.

Solo Leveling is based on the 2016 South Korean web novel written by Chugong and illustrated by Dubu (Redice Studio). A webtoon drawn by the latter was released afterwards in 2018 and published nine total volumes. H-Goon is credited with adapting the series in later volumes of the webtoon's Japanese publication after Dubu's passing.

The anime is currently streaming on Crunchyroll, Bilibili, and Netflix worldwide. Crunchyroll describes the main synopsis as:

It's been over a decade since the sudden appearance of the “gates” — the paths that connect our world with a different dimension. Since then, certain humans have awakened to supernatural powers. We call these “hunters.” Hunters make their living by individuals using their powers to conquer dungeons inside the gates. In this world of tough customers, the low-ranked hunter Jinwoo Sung is known as “the weakest hunter of all mankind.” One day, Jinwoo gets fatally injured when he runs into high-rank double dungeons hidden within a low-rank dungeon. Just then, a mysterious quest window appears in front of him.

On the verge of death, Jinwoo decides to accept the quest and starts leveling up… while the others aren't.

A Blue Archive The Animation character trailer has been released for Aru Rikuhachima (Reina Kondo) of the Gehenna Academy's Problem Solver 68 club.

Blue Archive The Animation will premiere in Japan on April 7. The anime is inspired by the free-to-play “Youth x Academy x Military RPG” Blue Archive from NEXON Games, and will focus on the Countermeasures Committee of Abydos High School, which faces the threat of closure due to desertification.

The opening animation sequence for Blue Archive The Animation, which has cute girls doing things and gun action cuts with strong animation power, is now available for viewing on the Blue Archive YouTube channel.

The storyboard and unit direction credits for the opening are shared by animators Ikuo Geso and 10+10. This isn't Geso's first rodeo on a Blue Archive short form animation — they were also storyboard artist and unit director on April 2023's “Alabaster Calling Card . Mansion Masquerade and the Essence of Beauty” animated trailer. Meanwhile, 10+10 previously directed Eve's “Tohiko” music video from last December.

Blue Archive The Animation's opening song is “Seishun no Archive,” performed by the Abydos High School Countermeasures Committee (consisting of Yui Ogura as Shiroko Sunaokami, Yumiri Hanamori as Hoshino Takanashi, Ayaka Oohashi as Serika Kuromi, Chiyuki Miura as Nonomi Izayoi, and Sayaka Harada as Ayane Okusora).
